^{we’re like an elastic band
no matter how much we pull apart
we just end up crashing back into each other
       breaking everything we touch
                        in the process

we can’t do this for-ever
       ( i can’t do this for-now )
backandforth backandforth
   - i’m no tennis ball
     i bruise not bounce
            but you know that

we’re everything and nothing
       at the same time
                  ( and
you don’t have to see me cry
        to know i can )

maybe next time we crash into each other
         we’ll  have learnt to hold on
                                   that bit tighter
